NEW - SCORE Find-A-Chaplain

Tuesday, 9th February 2010

Donate through CAFOnline

There is no doubt that our club chaplain, Malcolm Lorrimer, has performed a very valuable service at the club. For players, he almost acts as a mentor. With the rest of the staff, he has offered real support for those who have suffered bereavement or just need someone to talk to. In todays helter-skelter world, a voice of calmness can be inspiring and invigorating.

Introducing SCORE

SCORE is a registered charity (No. 1005446) which specialises in the provision of quality chaplaincy to the world of sport.

SCORE was established in 1991 to initiate, support and network sports chaplaincy ecumenically across the UK, and sometimes beyond. Since those small beginnings the organisation has grown remarkably. It now seeks to resource over 170 chaplains in a variety of sports and situations. All offer pastoral and spiritual support in a sensitive, non-judgement, non-sectarian way. All work with integrity and professionalism amongst the whole community of their clubs - the players, coaches, organisation and support staff. There is a real sense of affirmation and endorsement from the widest spectrum of the sports world, from the chaplains' work and involvement.

SCORE is funded by sports institutions, trust, organisations, churches, dominations and individuals. The Baptist Union of Great Britain from where the original vision for the work came, still continues to support SCORE, but as the work grows we need to further build our support base. Please take a few minutes to look around our website - where we have been and our plans for 2009 and beyond!
